Mary Lou Piatek-Daniels - 2006

Marylou was taught to play tennis by her father who was a school principal in Munster, Indiana. After attending Trinity College she decided to turn professional and compete on the WTA Tour in 1980.

She reached her highest ranking of No 15 on the WTA Tour and captured 2 singles titles, one in 1981 & the second in 1984. Marylou also has 11 doubles titles to her name. She excelled in World Team Tennis competition where she was ranked No 2 in singles play and was named the Most Valuable Player in 1985.

Now retired from the professional tour, Marylou makes her home in Munster and volunteers as coach for the Munster High school teams and also works with the local park and recreation department
