Jan-Michael Gambill - 2008

Born June 3, 1977 in Spokane, WA, Jan-Michael Gambill began playing tennis at the age of five and was coached by his father Chuck Gambill. He looked up to tennis greats Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe and made his professional debut in 1996. He earned his highest ranking of No. 14 in 2001 and was a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon and reached the 4th round at the U.S. Open .

Known for his good looks, washboard-like abdominal muscles and hot temper Gambill developed his unique style of play, a double-handed forehand that was his trade mark. Jan-Michael has had impressive wins over current world No. 1 Roger Federer and former world number ones Carlos Moya, Lleyton Hewitt, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi.

Just back from a shoulder injury and competing in ITF Future events Jan-Michael hopes to get his ranking and confidence back to compete once again in the majors. When not playing tennis, Jan-Michael keeps himself busy with modeling and doing some cameo movie appearances sharing his time between Hawaii and Los Angeles.
